Macrae, Viney Shine On The Big Stage

The Old Carey Grammarians Football Club would like to congratulate Jack Viney and Jack Macrae on outstanding finals series for Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs respectively.

Viney became a Premiership Player in the Dees’ historic win, collecting 25 disposals and laying 6 tackles in the win. It caps off a stellar year in which he got back to playing consistent football after a tough couple of years with injury.

Whilst the Bulldogs didn’t get the win, Macrae, a Premiership player in 2016, picked up the Gary Ayres Award as the AFL Coaches’ Player of the Finals. The award caps off another magnificent year for Macrae, in which he broke fellow Old Carey Grammarian Tom Mitchell’s record for the most disposals in a season.

The club wishes all Carey Grammar alumni luck for season 2022!
