The Old Carey Grammarians Football Club held its 2021 AGM on Wednesday 10th of November.

With space at a premium due to venue capacity limits – we were still pleased to get most of our old and new committee along, to recognise the work completed in 2021 and endorse a new (and bigger) committee for 2022.

Highlights from the Meeting:

The club was able to produce a rather sound balance sheet, out of what has been a challenging 24 months – with the many covid disruptions.

Many of our traditional revenue streams were stifled for various reasons, this (result) was only possible due to a concerted effort to limit expenditure.

The new committee is cognizant of the need to quickly mobilise, to build something that resembles a pre-covid revenue picture and has already launched into this.

Matt Godden, Andrew Simpson and Tom Chapman are principally involved in this, and are currently pursuing a number of scalable sponsorship opportunities, with club apparel real estate currently available for premium sponsors.

The climax of any AGM is the Election of Office Bearers – the following people will hold positions on our Panther Executive for 2022:

President PresidentMichael Tarrant (READ MORE)
Vice President Cam Jones (READ MORE)
Secretary Sam Hassett
Treasurer Jim McDonald
Executive (Media) Zac Lisle
Executive Nick Andrews
Executive Jeremy Dickson
General Committee Matt Godden
General Committee Andrew Simpson
General Committee Tom Chapman

We heartily welcome our new committee to their office bearing positions. A Committee Recruiting Drive led by new president Michael Tarrant, has proved fruitful with a big supporting cast ready to support the representatives listed above. It was great for our newly formed committee to meet at Dunshea Oval for a meeting and photo (above), with a further 10+ members unable to attend the meeting.

We would like to thank a number of retiring office-bearers – all of whom will continue be pillars of support to the new committee – thank you Lochlann Hall, Zander Adam and Craig Jobson. Our biggest thanks are left for Jeremy Dickson who will pivot to Football Operations, after 3 years in the Club Presidency – Jeremy has faced into COVID and a significant changeover in playing and coaching personnel and done so valiantly.

We’re all eager for 2022 to wind into gear – and this started with the resumption of training this week.

Go PANTHERS!
